The Local Physical Needs Field is where we connect with people who are facing difficult circumstances. We want to be the hands and feet of Jesus to provide tangible help to those in need. At the same time, we care deeply for the souls of all people, so we want to find ways to communicate the message of the Gospel while we serve. 
ENTER the Local Physical Needs Field with us: 
  • Leah’s Hopes and Dreams:  A ministry to Charlotte’s homeless communities with vital resources enabling them to not only survive, but to thrive.  UHBC has partnered with Leah’s Hopes and Dreams by providing food, clothing,  toiletry items, and volunteers. We plan to participate and/or collect items in March, April, July, and September. 
  • New Hope Clothes Closet: A ministry of New Hope Baptist Church known as Hope 4 Families.  The clothes closet provides free clothing, shoes, and accessories donated by local businesses as well as personal contributions.  In addition to funding, UHBC has partnered with New Hope Clothes Closet by providing volunteers to personally assist clients meet their clothing needs.
  • Crisis Assistance Ministry: The mission of Crisis Assistance Ministry is to provide assistance and advocacy for people in financial crisis, helping them move toward self-sufficiency. You can volunteer with this ministry and build relationships with others serving. Find out more HERE.
  • Second Harvest Food Bank: This organization seeks to end hunger through education, advocacy, and partnerships. When you volunteer you can build relationships with others serving  Find out more HERE.
Help Others ENTER the Local Physical Needs Field: 
  • Crisis Assistance Ministry: The regular offerings to UHBC allow us to give $2500 a year.
  • Loaves and Fishes: The regular offerings to UHBC allow us to give $1000 a year. An organization that provides nutritionally balanced groceries to individuals and families in Charlotte-Mecklenburg who are in a short-term crisis.  In addition, starting in 2021, they also provide groceries, meals and hope through a network of food pantries and home grocery and meal deliveries as the primary Meals on Wheels program for Mecklenburg Co.
  • New Hope Clothes Closet: The regular offerings to UHBC allow us to give $500 a year. Also, you can donate clothing to this ministry.
