Here are some ways you can get involved in University Hills and our community!
Hurricane Matthew struck the eastern half of NC with a tremendous amount of damage on October 8, 2016, mostly related to record flooding. Hurricane Matthew Rebuild trips encompass everything from a total rebuild of the home to just fixing things: replacing floors and cabinets, repairing and painting sheet-rock and trim, installing windows, etc.
Construction experience is helpful but not required. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Housing and food is provided free of charge. Trips can be any length of time. Our next trip to Lumberton, NC is April 5 – 7, 2018.
For more information, contact Sandy Page at firstname.lastname@example.org.
There will be a "Ladies Only” trip to Houston, TX on October 12-21, 2018. We will be working with Mission Centers of Houston, www.missioncenters.org. We'll focus on working with children, families, and seniors.

World Village is a part of Campus International Fellowship (CIF), a UNCC Christian organization, passionate about creating a place where international students and Americans are able to form genuine friendships, creating a community which reaches across all cultural lines. We seek to serve all international students and visiting scholars, their spouses and children. World Village is an awesome opportunity to meet new people, learn new cultures, eat new foods, develop English skills, have discussions, play games, and go to special events.
For more information about being a part of World Village as a volunteer or a student, contact worldvillageUNCC@gmail.com.
Although this is not a live-in situation, this program exists to connect international college students, or scholars, studying in Charlotte with an American family for the purpose of friendship. This developing friendship will help provide support to the international college student and an opportunity for a great cross cultural experience for the student and the family. For many students and families this experience results in long lasting friendships.
For more information on how to become a host family or to request a host family, contact Lanier Ellis – email@example.com.
We are starting Gospel conversations with college students at CPCC Cato and UNCC by handing out coffee and donuts, prayer walking, and conversation starters at a reserved table.
There is a Bible Study at CPCC Cato on Thursdays from 12:00-1:00 p.m. as well.
Do you have a burden for reaching college students? Contact Bo Riley at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our Student Worship Ministries Team is a vital place for 6th-12th grade students to find a place in worship discipleship and leadership. Using vocal music as well as visual expressions of worship, such as sign and musical interpretations, our students find a place to strengthen and use their gifts. Students participate in worship leadership throughout the year and engage in a mission tour each summer.
For additional information about the Student Worship Ministries team, please contact Tammy Toney at email@example.com or join us Sunday afternoons from 4:30 to 5:30 in the Music Suite.
The Bible in the schools?
Yes! The Good News Bible Club meets after school for one hour each week on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 at a local elementary school. We invest in the children's lives and share Jesus' love and the Gospel. During the Good News Bible Club, we teach a Bible lesson, memory verse, play games, and sing songs. The curriculum is already written out for you to use. We need volunteers to teach the Bible lesson, memory verses, songs, games, and to provide snacks. Would you be willing to make a difference in the kids' lives for the Savior?
